What is Geocell System?
KRT® Geocell System is a three-dimensional, honeycomb structured erosion control and soil stabilization material. Geocell cellular confinement system provides fast, economical and durable solutions for soil stabilization and load support applications on weak soils, erosion control on slopes, shoreline protection systems and channels.
The system is made up of textured and perforated HDPE strips that are welded together using ultrasonic technology to form a solid three-dimensional network. Rhomboidal textured frictional surface of the cell walls keep the infill material safely in the cell by three-dimensional confinement. Cell walls can be perforated or non-perforated, depending on the requirement of the projects. Perforated strips allow water flow through the cell walls, creating improved root zone development between adjacent cells for sustainable vegetated applications.
Geocell system is delievered to the site in the form of folded strips. When the strips are held at both ends and opened, they form a three dimensional honeycomb structure. The strips are used by adding them side by side.
KRT® Geocell can be filled with different infill materials such as sand, gravel, soil, concrete or various materials according to the purpose and requirements of the project. Cell heights vary between 50-200 mm according to project requirements. Cell dimensions, surface treatment and strip perforation are also important parameters for Geocell system.

We use UV resistant, high quality HDPE blend in our geocell manufacturing process to ensure long-lasting performance. KRT® geocell system is reinforced with special additives to ensure that it can function safely even under the most severe environmental conditions.
Our Geocell has superior strength against tensile loads with a strip thickness of minimum of 1.50 millimeters.
Specially designed rhomboidal textured frictional surface prevents the loss of material in the cell by increasing the adhesion between the cell wall and the infill material. Perforated geocell walls allow rapid drainage of water between cells and propagation of the plant root system.
Our Geocells have a special ultrasonic welding system with superior strength that does not break even under extreme loads.
