Geocell Slope & Shoreline Protection
Provides economical and effective slope surface stabilization solutions for slopes and shoreline protection systems
Geocell system protects several engineering structures, such as embankment and cut slopes, shoreline revetments, dam faces, spillways, landfill caps, highway and railway side slopes, containment dikes and levees, abutments against erosion and landslides. Slope protection system ensures that vegetated, permeable, and armored slope surfaces remain stable and functional over time.
The system holds the infill material safely inside the cell. This allows planting with root development and provides natural and safe protection against erosion. Confinement of topsoil allows for the complete vegetation of slopes that could not otherwise support sustainable plant growth. Cell walls protect infill soil on steep slopes and keep it in place by reducing or eliminating the formation of rills, one of the main causes of soil erosion. Water in the cells penetrates through the holes of the Geocell in the topsoil, which promotes deep root growth and provides a reinforced vegetative environment.
Geocell slope and shoreline protection system also offers an effective solution for holding fill materials (soil, granular, concrete, etc.) on geomembrane liners or covers. Each cell of the cellular confinement system functions as a small dam that allows water or wind to pass over the top of the cells without the removal of the infill material. Small rip rap material and rocks that can be eroded by the wave action can be safely confined with Geocell.
CELLULAR CONFINEMENT
Selected Infill Applications
To meet project requirements such as performance and aesthetics, geocell shoreline and slope protection system can be designed with a variety of infill materials. Geocell system can also protect impermeable liners.
GEOCELL
Benefits of Infill Protection
The three-dimensional structure of the Geocell system restricts the down slope movement of the selected infill material.
Even on steep slope surfaces, cellular confinement system prevents the valuable infill material on the slope surface from being lost due to environmental factors such as gravity, rain, water, wind.
